It is with deep pride and shared purpose that I welcome you to the Gedeo Zone Diaspora Association (GZDA). Our association is built on the foundational belief that by uniting Gedeo Zone Diaspora, Ethiopian diaspora, and global allies, we can cultivate lasting impact — both within our communities and back home.
Our mission is rooted in cultural celebration, collaboration, and connection. GZDA serves not only as a bridge between generations and geographies, but also as a catalyst for knowledge exchange, investment, and responsive support during times of need. Whether we’re uplifting individual accomplishments, coordinating vital relief efforts, or encouraging sustainable development, every initiative reflects our collective commitment to progress with purpose. Above all, we celebrate and promote the rich traditions of Gedeo culture—especially Daraaro, our vibrant New Year—by organizing cultural festivals, virtual storytelling events, and youth engagement activities abroad that reconnect the diaspora with their heritage. Together, we are nurturing a legacy of pride, purpose, and progress.
As we grow together, I encourage each of you to participate fully — share your ideas, talents, and experiences.
