Why we founded the Gedeo Zone Diaspora Association GZDA

We, Children of Gedeo, Dilla and its surroundings that live in the diaspora have always been looking for an opportunity to give back to our hometown and the community that raised us. Gedeo Zone Diaspora Association (GZDA) intends to bring this opportunity to your doorsteps so that you can participate and contribute to the development of your childhood home. 

GZDA is open to you irrespective of your religious, tribal, or political orientation and to the people around you, including foreigners who might be interested in the cause.GZDA has various project ideas it wants to implement with your help. Purpose

To bring together natives of Gedeo Zone, Ethiopian descendants, and friends under one umbrella.

To promote investments and projects within the association or by individuals.

To coordinate support during natural and man-made disasters.

Mission

To promote the culture of the area to Ethiopian descendants and the global community.

To facilitate platforms for members to share various knowledge and experiences.

To create connections that can bring development and investment to the zone.

Activities 

To encourage and organize members for various activities. To organize events that bring members together under one umbrella. To facilitate ways for members to support each other. To inform members about opportunities and interests that allow them to participate in various activities within the Gedeo Zone. To exchange knowledge and information among members. To collaborate with supportive organizations and individuals that align with the association’s purposes. To establish connections with organizations and associations that share similar purposes or support the association’s purposes. To work together with government, religious institutions, and associations for mutual development. To carry out activities that help Ethiopian descendants know their parents’ culture. To provide information about investments and various activities within the Gedeo Zone. To support any assistance work done for the zone.
